Consultancy & Training CPD
Being committed to supporting others includes offering information and support to those within my field. Psychotherapists and Counsellors are able to shape their careers however they want to which is both exciting and intimidating. Any direction you’d like to move in includes developing knowledge and skills in an ethical manner, so that your clients are adequately supported as your work evolves.
I am available to offer professional consultancy and training to trainee/qualified individuals, groups, and organisations looking to develop in the following areas:
Setting up and managing a counselling/psychotherapy service
Pre-trial therapy: talking therapy for clients who have an active report, investigation, or trial for a criminal offence they have reported to the police
Working with sexual violence, and/or domestic violence
Working in a trauma-informed way from an empowerment-based perspective
Any consultancy and training offered is gender-inclusive, LGBT+ affirmative, anti-oppressive, and intersectional. You will receive a CPD certificate and resources.
My working experience I can pass on to you includes the following:
Providing one-to-one counselling and psychotherapy to adult clients since 2010 in a variety of services (private, statutory, third sector, and higher education)
Setting up and co-ordinating specialist services in Leeds for female offenders at Together Women Project and survivors of sexual violence at Support After Rape and Sexual Violence Leeds
Creating and co-ordinating a busy private practice (Therapy Leeds)
Setting up and managing an award-winning, women-centred, and eco-friendly independent business (The Beauty Assembly, formerly Pastille Beauty Bar)
Lobbying work within an independent steering group to challenge the ethical, practical, and legal dilemmas regarding pre-trial therapy in the UK – including liaising with legal professionals
Delivering one-off community projects that support third sector organisations, local businesses, and independent business owners
Experience in therapeutically supporting the LGBT+ community
Writing and speaking in a variety of contexts including: publication of a textbook for psychotherapists, online and print articles, podcasts, conferences, guest lecturing at Universities
Various forms of activism (writing, speaking, community work).
Fees and the location of meetings are negotiable.
